The Seven Year Anniversary of Living at The Lazy Vegan

On April 3, 2002 we closed escrow on this beautiful piece of land...who would have ever guessed that seven years later we call it "The Lazy Vegan"! It has been seven years worth of a lot of changes...when I look back to our early months of living in a construction zone I can't believe how far we've come. And we have donkeys in our lives now!! Definitely never would have guessed that. I feel very blessed to live on such a wonderful spot where geese fly by daily and turkeys come to visit, and the deer feel safe enough to sleep here every night!
Paco and Weegie were by far the best "improvement" to the property!
Very playful donkeys after sweet grain time!
Another week's trip to the library to get our "reserved" books. I love ordering books from the library online!
The foreman (a.k.a. "the Reverend") picked a serious book.

While I picked a not-so-serious one...because this isn't quite what I had in mind when I ordered "Paddle Your Own Kayak"!

I'm looking forward to reading this book about turkeys: "More than a Meal"!!

Early this evening I closed the gate to the corral so that Bravo could help me clean the barn without the donkeys getting in the way. Bravo was a HUGE help. He stared at me the entire time!
I fasten the end of his leash on part of a tree stump. Otherwise, he'd take off to bug the neighbor's dog!
It takes poor little old Solo a long, long time to make it downstairs now.

In the morning, the donks and I posed for some self-timed photos!

Weegie is so cute when he is resting.

Here I'm just pretending to be part of the herd!

Boulder must yawn 1,000 times a day.

Early this morning I took the truck and got hay, pine shavings, dog food, etc. Then the foreman was kind enough to unload all of it!

Another self-timed photo. You can see how exciting it can get around here.

This is exciting: at the feed store I found a great fur clipping kit for Toby!
The donkeys play before bedtime.

"Uh, Weegie! You're getting dust in my eyes!"

Luigi just loves his dust baths!

You can't ever have too much play time when you're a donkey!
