Happy Memorial Day at The Lazy Vegan!

Happy Memorial Day!!
All we have of freedom, all we use or know -This our fathers bought for us long and long ago.~Rudyard Kipling, The Old Issue, 1899

It was a beautiful day to celebrate Memorial Day at The Lazy Vegan...and to finally get an American flag to wave! The foreman had the great idea the other day of getting a flag, and when I drove through town today and saw all the flags out I stopped at the hardware store to buy one. We spent the day working at home- (actually, after I post this we'll be heading off to a friend's house...so it hasn't all been about labor!) the foreman did a lot of painting, taking a break only for lunch and to put up the flag! Happy Memorial Day...may all the troops everywhere come home soon & may all wars end for good!

Toby likes the flag!

I think it looks great against a white house. DUH! Just like THE White House!

I put the flag part together and then the foreman did the hard part.

Now we have a permanent "home" for the flag for all the various holidays.

Bravo supervises from the kitchen window...which means he's up on the kitchen table!

Of course I bought a flag for the donkey barn, too!

Weegie seemed the most impressed by it.
He was very curious!

I had it up high enough so the donkeys couldn't nibble on it, which would not be proper!

The boys like anything that blows in the wind!

Memorial Day napping donks!

Memorial Day lunch: Fried "chicken" (FAKE!!!) tofu!

It was delicious!Bravo helped set up the flag.

The foreman painted part of the deck, the house, and windows up very high...
The foreman's painting assistant, hard at work!

Boulder enjoyed the day doing the usual stuff!
