Ridiculously Warm January & Officially Drought Time at the Lazy Vegan
As I type this, I'm wearing a short-sleeve t-shirt in the early evening...in JANUARY! We've had ridiculously warm weather this past week and California is officially in a drought. I've started water-conserving as much as I can (turning the faucet off when I brush my teeth - always a good idea, drought or no drought!). The deer (and perhaps other animals) have been drinking out of our small fountain (not to be confused with The Water Feature) and I worry about the smaller wildlife that won't be able to access it. Anyway, am hoping some rain comes soon! The donkeys want their green grass to grow!
I can't begin to describe how this rabbit brings me joy, every day.
Hide and seek!
Time to bug the dog.
Silly rabbit...this was the tail end of a "dramatic rollover"!
I took Bravo with me to hike up the hill to retrieve one of the critter cams (something I rarely do, since I don't want to introduce his scent to the area) and he was beside himself with sensory overload!
Sniffing the air like a vegan hunting dog or something. I guess a vegan hunting dog would be one that would just playfully chase but not catch or eat the prey!
Bravo and The Water Feature.
Luigi cracks me up lately!
Pre-dinner stare down.
Another stare down while I clean the corral before dinner!
Super adorable Weegie!
Time to get out the ole juicer to whip up some carrot ginger juice!
Platter of Mexican food one night.
The weekly pose with Paco! Boy, he has a lot of whiskers.
The evening trio.
Wasabi investigates the heater vent.
The canine duo.
Toby is looking pretty darn old these days. He has trouble sitting for too long.
Nap time next to the bunny!
With Snap down at the Barlow!
Snap picking out bananas at Whole Foods!
Date night! On our way to a fancy restaurant that we've never tried before right in our little town.
Gnocchi with squash and (vegan) pesto...yummy, but too small... we gobbled it up in no time!
My happy-I-don't-have-to-cook face.
Bottom line: fun to try something new, but WAY too much money...and after we got home we were still hungry!
A visit from Paul, the world traveler!
Enjoying the warm days!
This past week marked ten years since the passing of my brother, Dan. It is surreal to think a decade has gone by! I think of him often and I wonder what he is up to, and I look forward to the day when we meet again.
My mom at Daniel's memorial table at Doran beach this past week.
